Primary 2 Update

It’s been another busy week for Primary 2. We started off on Monday with a visit from Generation Science, who did a workshop with us about bees! The children loved learning lots of new things about these interesting animals.

We also started a new topic about under the sea. The children made lovely paintings of octopuses, and came up with some brilliant ideas for setting up a new role-play area in the classroom, with a submarine and sea creatures, so they can pretend to be divers, or even mer-people! For our writing task this week, everyone wrote lovely descriptions of sea creatures using some brilliant describing words.

In maths, the children had their first look at fractions. We started by looking at half of a shape or half of a number, and many of the childrenĀ noticed that it was just like dividing! We will continue to explore this over the next few weeks.

It was lovely to meet with so many of you at Parent’s Evening this week. As always, if you would like to speak with me again for any reason, I am available through Class Dojo, the school office, or you can always catch me outside the school gate when picking up your children at the end of the day.

Have a lovely weekend!
