P3 started the week with some help from the P6s. The P6s came into the class to help the P3s with their writing activity. The P3 pupils were buddied up with at least 1 p6 pupil – some lucky ones even got 2! It was great to see everyone focused on the activity and I’m sure the P6s enjoyed teaching and helping the P3 as much as the P3s enjoyed getting their help. This will continue for the next 8 weeks on a variety of writing activities.
In maths P3 have been learning about place value to 1000. They have been using physical objects (cubes) to help with this task.
In the “Solar System, and Beyond…” topic this week, they have been finding out more about the International Space Station – including how they cook food and how they wash their clothes (not at all is the answer!). Inspired by this, the class have made their own “Kirkhill Space Station” in the class. The pupils worked in pairs, and had to design their own panel for the space station.
p3 had Baby Billie back again this week. They were very excited to see Billie in a very happy attentive mood this week- eager to make eye contact with everyone in the class. They were amazed at how much she has developed in such a few weeks since the last visit. She was much more playful with the toys, and could even roll over from her back to her front.
