Happy New Year! The children have settled back in to routine nicely and have already been working hard in class.

We started a new Topic on Money and we’re learning about all the different coins, bank cards and how we earn money to spend on different things. Next week we will continue with Money and will be using our adding skills to find total amounts of 1p and 2p coins.

All children in P1 will start to get Reading books home from next week. Please can you read them with your child, alongside their sounds and tricky words cards. Also could you encourage them to bring their Reading folder in everyday to school. Thank you.

Home Learning will start up again next week as normal.

The children are going to be doing a mini Topic about Scotland. Next week they will be finding some places on a map, including Broxburn, and will be comparing Edinburgh and Glasgow. They will also be making thistle pictures using tissue paper.

In French we will be revising what we have learned already in P2/1(numbers to 10, colours, greetings and yes and no) and moving on to please, thank you and the days of the week!
