This week we wrote gruesome recipes based on the book ‘How to Cook Children’ by Martin Howard. Mrs Telfer was really impressed with our recipes. Some of the titles include, ‘Ruby Rhubard Crumble,’ ‘Bella Bolognaise with Snot Sauce’ and ‘PENNYcotta.’ In Maths we continued with our Mental Maths strategies. We did a walk about answering the sums of the other people in the class. It was great fun and really got us thinking. We made 3D pictures of ourselves in art. They look amazing.

We still have to look at the the lessons that were learnt from the sinking of the Titanic and we will finish our topic after the holidays…..
During our last week in Primary 1 before the October break we have been enjoying more Colourful Consonant games and keeping our Pupil Profiles up to date. We have been writing a personal story about our weekend and investigating 2D shapes. Listening to Katie Morag stories inspired us to create kilts; we think Katie Morag would love wearing them! One of our P7 buddies wrote a special story and came to read it to her P1 buddy. During our Class Talks we have found out lots of information from where family members live in Ireland to Panda’s and their habits. In RE we thanked God for the wonder of Autumn. In PE we have been practicing ball skills. On Thursday we had a reward afternoon which was great fun. Mrs McGonigal came in to share the story of Little Red Riding Hood; we have lots of actions for the characters now! We have had a busy, but fun, first term.
