Primary 1 have had a great start to their journey at St Joseph’s! They have enjoyed investigating and exploring their new environment and have settled in really well. The Primary 7 Buddies have been absolutely fantastic helping the Primary 1’s with the playtime and lunchtime routines. We have started learning our new sounds a, t, p and n, and have been using ‘Fred Talk’ to blend the sounds together to make words.

Week beginning the 21st August 2018
Welcome back to P7 we hope you had a lovely long summer and had time to enjoy the great weather ! We are settling well into our new class – We revised ‘Children’s Rights and completed lots of ‘Rights’ Challenges. We worked in groups to discuss our class rules, and we created ‘Our Class Charter’. We set our ‘Goals for the year’. We found out how to use ICT to create tables and graphs and use these skills to complete different challenges. We revised Place Value in Maths. We helped our P1 buddies settle in to school! We also started our applications for House Captains, Football Captain, Netball Captain and Sports Captain. We are very excited about the year ahead!

Gardening Gang 22nd June 2018
Big thanks to parents Lorraine, Jenny, Vicky, Moray and Orla who came along to help with the adult gardening work on Friday. Thanks to Moray for her work on the weeding – strimming still needs doing but hoping to have an update on that later in the week. Our other parents painted – some before, during and after pics attached. All looking much brighter but most items will need another coat of paint so (weather depending). All gratefully received if you have any time to spare.
