Right of the Week – Article 23

This month is ‘National Autism Awareness’ week.

Our Right  of the Week this week is Article 23

A child of with a disability has the right to live a full and decent life with dignity and independence, and to play an active part in the community. Governments must do all they can to provide support to disabled children.

RRS – SCIAF

In South Sudan, a generation of children with disabilities are locked out of an education and trapped in a cycle of poverty.  We would like to help these children achieve their right to an education. We can do so if every family could bring in £1 to support these children on the 1st of April.

Many children with disabilities in South Sudan are not able to go to school or, later on, to work and earn a living. They may have no access to support services or hospitals for treatment. They may face stigma and exclusion.

This year £1 = £2

From the 12 February to 11 May, all public donations to our WEE BOX, BIG CHANGE appeal will be doubled by the UK government.

You can learn even more about our WEE BOX, including how parishes and schools make donations with our handy 2021 WEE BOX guide.

Easy Fundraising!

Please remember to use easyfundraising when you do your Christmas shopping this year.
Over 4,300 shops and sites will donate to St Joseph’s Linlithgow for FREE when you use easyfundraising to shop with them. This means you can raise donations for us when you buy anything from decorations and festive food shopping to gifts like toys, jewellery, tech, experiences and more!
These donations really help us and all you have to do is use easyfundraising when you’re ordering the things you’ll be buying anyway.

Return to School- Guidance for Parents

Dear Parents and Families of St. Joseph’s,
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Summer break.
I am sure that you will now be aware of the communications and information from West Lothian Council regarding the phased return of all pupils back to school. Please find attached further information and guidance relevant to St. Joseph’s PS to help prepare you and your family for the safe return of all pupils next week.
Myself and all the staff are very much looking forward to welcoming all of our pupils back to school. The Health and wellbeing of all is a clear priority and I know you will do all you can do support the guidance that has been carefully compiled on the basis of a thorough Risk Assessment.
I look forward to seeing many of you next week as we begin the return to school.
