Welcome back after the holidays! It is great to be back!
This week in
Literacy we have started to write a diary recount about our time on board the Titanic we have enjoyed this so much we will have to continue it next week!
ICT – We completed our newspaper reports
Maths – We revised addition and subtraction of 4 and 5 digit numbers
Technology – We continued with our 3D Titanic
Art – We created posters in an Art Deco Style
Team building – We continue to work on our Team Building skills
This week primary 2 have been learning about the properties of 2D shape. We have been describing the number of edges and corners of squares, circles, rectangles, triangles and hexagons. We have been for a shape hunt in the playground to find examples of 2D shapes and used 2D shapes to design a robot. We listened to a live broadcast from the author Kes Gray who told the story ‘Quick Quack Quentin’. We listened to the story ‘Room on a Broom’ by Julia Donaldson and drew and labelled a picture of the Witch with adjectives from the story.
This week we wrote gruesome recipes based on the book ‘How to Cook Children’ by Martin Howard. Mrs Telfer was really impressed with our recipes. Some of the titles include, ‘Ruby Rhubard Crumble,’ ‘Bella Bolognaise with Snot Sauce’ and ‘PENNYcotta.’ In Maths we continued with our Mental Maths strategies. We did a walk about answering the sums of the other people in the class. It was great fun and really got us thinking. We made 3D pictures of ourselves in art. They look amazing.
