As there have been soooooooo many posts appearing on our blog over the past few days we have decided to have a little re-organisation. All set work for each year group will now be accessible from the class pages (i.e. Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 3). Anything that we think might be of interest to everyone will appear under General News. Hopefully it will now be easier for you to find the learning and activities that have been set for your child rather than having to scroll through several pages.

I hope that some of you tried the animal hand art from yesterday. If you did, take a photo of your artwork and e-mail it to me (morna.matthews@westlothian.org.uk) and I will share it in on the blog !
For Wednesday’s ‘Mrs Matthews’ Daily Challenge’ let’s give our bodies a stretch and go on a Frozen yoga adventure….

We have had a request to share some information to explain the Vowel House. You will be able to download both the Vowel House story and Vowel House itself via the links below. The story, supported by the actions and the window shapes, is used to help pupils identify and remember vowel sounds. The window shapes represent the shape or movement of the lips. The spelling patterns highlighted for each sound in the ‘Vowel House Sounds’ are the most common medial spellings whereas those in the ‘Alternative Vowel House Sounds’ explain other ways of making the same sound.
