Rise and Shine Primary 1 :)

Good Morning Primary 1! Another lovely morning to wake up to 🙂 Thought i will change things up and read a story in the morning today !

However, this story is set at night so I was a little bit confused when i started reading at the beginning. The story is written and illustrated by Jane Simmons and it is called Daisy and the Moon. (YEY! NEW CHARACTERS)

Hopefully i can catch you at breakfast time. If not, feel free to listen to the story anytime during the day or even as your bed time story! Enjoy 🙂

Thank you HC

Hello HC. Just to say Miss Gorman sent your fantastic picture to me. Thank you.
So is there a handprint for each of your family members? Is yours the one at the bottom on the right? Did you use paint and was it messy to clean off?
I also love the little rainbow at the bottom.
I hope you and your family are doing well. I’m fine but missing everyone so your picture was a treat.
Thank you. Take care,
Mrs Duff

New Term: Letter from Mr Wallace

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope that you and your families are all safe and well.  These continue to be uncertain times as we welcome everyone back (virtually!) to our final term of the school session.  Like you, we don’t know how long the closure of schools will continue but we plan to continue to provide some learning opportunities for our children whom we are missing very much!

From Tuesday, class teachers will be posting specific learning activities for your children both on Teams within Glow (For Primary 4-7 pupils) and on our Learning Blog (for all pupils)  – https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/harrysmuirps/   For our nursery pupils, family learning activities can continue to be found at the following blog – https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/ILandEblog/ .

The main focus of our learning activities will be on literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing and these specific activities will be posted every week however there will also be activities from time to time relating to other areas of the curriculum.  Please remember that much is learnt during times of play so it is vital that our children still have time to relax and play as well as completing learning activities.  If you are unsure of any of this or would prefer to collect paper copies of the activities, please get in contact with the school office on 01506 434501 or email us directly at wlharrysmuir-ps@westlothian.org.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

As a parent myself, I understand that having children at home all day can be very challenging! Whatever learning you are supporting at home, we would like to thank you.  We will use all of our skills and expertise to support your children when they finally come back to school.  What we as a school need right now from you, is for your children to be in the best place for learning when they return.  Please continue to share your calm, your love, your connection and your care – these are the greatest things that we can give to our children right now.

Stay safe and thank you,

Tim Wallace

P3 Experiment

Hello Primary 3

Thought this might be a fun experiment to try at home. Make sure you have some adult help. If you manage it, it would be great if you could up load some pictures. I look forward to seeing them.

I will tell you how it works if anyone manages it!

Regards

Mrs Russell

Hello everyone!

Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and managed to get out to play in the sunshine. Miss Suen, Mrs Carr and Mrs Meek have all been busy looking for activities for our Learning Grids, so you can try to do these while our school is still closed.

If you have time, you could also have a look at the file below to see if there is anything else you would like to do.

Tiny Happy People

We miss you all. Stay safe and keep washing your hands!
