For outdoor classroom day class 1 were creative in the playground – using fun tasks to help us learn our tricky words.
For outdoor learning day class 4 created designs for a maze on large pieces of paper. We then went out into the playground and drew the maze design onto the ground with chalk. We hope all of the classes had fun trying to solve the maze!
We were also busy in the kitchen making apple chutney with dates and ginger.
This week class 1 have continued reading our novel The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark. We each chose our favourite character so far and, as you can see from the super drawings, Plop the baby Barn Owl was a popular choice.
Delicious corn fritters made by Class 3 as part of our Wild West topic. This is an old cowboy recipe and very delicious. Not much left in the picture they were that tasty. Yum!
Class 2 are focusing on reading for enjoyment. As part of our independent reading, we decided that a visit to our local library was a must.
The pupils were so impressed with the range of books on offer that they all borrowed one each. We even borrowed some audio stories to listen to on our CD player.
It was so lovely to see the pupils engaging with the books. Many of the boys said that they would love to become a member of their local library.
Here are some photographs of the boys enjoying some reading time. I’ve never seen them so quiet!
Class 2 testing testing…
Class 4 have been working hard on their campaign to become a member of the Pupil Voice. We have created posters and short video clips to show everyone in assembly on Monday. Fingers crossed we get some votes!
We have also been busy in the kitchen making some carrot and coriander soup which we shared with all of the classes yesterday.
In maths we have been working on angles and compass points using the smart board.
