Primary 6 Outdoor Learning

Primary 6 took part in a wonderful workshop this morning run by Countrypark ranger Luke. They learnt all about the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and completed lots of fun activities to consolidate their learning.

Titanic drama

Primary 6 have enjoyed learning about the Titanic in both their IDL and their reading lessons. They worked in teams to create scripts of a drama showing the final hours of the Titanic’s maiden voyage. They then acted out their performances to both Primary 6 classes using home made props and sound effects to add drama!

Primary 6 Titanic shoeboxes

Primary 6 are loving their Titanic project. They researched some of the rooms on board the ship and created a model of one of them inside a shoebox.

Primary 6 had a great time at the bunny bootcamp yesterday. They loved all the activities and were able to help the nursery children to take part too!

Euroquiz

Three teams of four P6’s recently took part in the heats for Euroquiz 2025 alongside over 100 other teams across West Lothian! Euroquiz is an annual project open to P6 pupils across Scotland which sees teams working together to answer (tricky!) questions all about Europe. A lot of hard work went into revising for this quiz and everyone should be very proud of their efforts!🌍🇪🇺🌟👏

P6 Badminton Festival

P6 really enjoyed taking part in the badminton festival last week alongside other cluster schools! There were lots of different activities set up for us to try which was great fun!🏸

Happy World Book Day from Primary 6 📚

Primary 6 have had great fun celebrating World Book Day!

They joined the ‘Footy and Booky’ quiz run by The National Literacy Trust and enjoyed hearing messages from famous footballers and authors encouraging them to keep reading.

They then worked in teams to match the blurbs to the front cover of popular picture books from their childhood.

Some brave pupils volunteered to read out the books to the class.

The children then worked in groups to act out the stories.

In the afternoon, Primary 6 had fun creating their own Mr Men and Little Miss characters and writing stories to share with younger children in the school.
