Primary 4/5 had a wonderful class treat to Dechmont Hill on Wednesday. They climbed to the top of the hill where they spotted our school and some of their houses. We then explored the woods, finding the ‘Faraway tree’ from our class novel and the place a UFO was spotted 50 years ago. We finished our trip with hot chocolate, football and playing in the woods.

We have been looking at innovation and the impact it has had on our world. Whilst it has given us some incredible developments in technology, it has also caused significant damage to our planet. We looked at ways in which we should live to protect our future. We designed transport that was carbon free, green buildings that were cost effective and urban farms that provided local produce. Here are some of our designs:

P4/5 have been learning bounce passes and chest passes in basketball.
they had lots of fun.

Primary 5A had great fun at Bunny Boot Camp this afternoon – the weather was perfect!!

Primary 5 had a fantastic trip to The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre to round off their topic on The Scottish Wars of Independence. They loved trying on the clothes of knights, archers and foot soldiers as well as handling many of the different weapons used back then. They each became part of the Scottish or English army to take part in a battle re-enactment in the war room!
Well done to everyone at Carmondean for doing a huge litter pick today in our school grounds and in the surrounding area. Every class took part and we collected a lot of litter. This was part of the Spring Clean initiative! 🗑️🚮 Here are photos from P5A.

Our fabulous dance team performed brilliantly in the West Lothian Dance Festival. They showed confidence, and rhythm as they danced to ‘Disturbia’ on stage.
P5A have been asking to go to the forest as we haven’t been for a while. They showed super teamwork when building dens in the wind! It was quite a challenge with the very large tarpaulins! 💨
