P5 have been learning about Coat of arms as part of their Scottish Wars of Independence topic. They have created their own shields using symbols that you would find back in the 13th century. Ask us about the symbols we have chosen 🤩

This week, P5B started their new topic “The Scottish Wars of Independence”. The class created a timeline using significant events from the past such as the invention of the television and world war 1. We a great discussion about the events that happened before and after the Scottish wars of independence took place

P5A worked very well in teams today when completing a RICH task – Sticky triangles!
They were shown three lolly sticks made into a triangle. The challenge – Can you continue this pattern of triangles and begin to predict how many sticks are used for each new ‘layer’?
They used lolly sticks to help find a solution and then discovered a pattern to predict how many triangles and how many sticks would be in future rows. Fabulous!🤩 Can you figure it out too?

P5 showed great skills and team work when completing their STEM challenge – To build a free standing Christmas tree using only paper and tape.
Our finished trees were all very different 🤩🎄
We had a winner for the tallest tree and also the tree that looked most like a Christmas tree.

P5 had a great party today which included lots of fun games, dancing and food! 🥳

Our final digital leaders lesson that spilled over from last week was a great success coding an animation in Scratch!

Our digital leaders created and taught the P3s a lesson all about directions and coding using the Bee/Bluebots through different challenges!

Making Christmas animations
P5A have discussed healthy choices we can make and have worked in pairs to create informative posters. They look great 🤩

P5A have been showing excellent team work and map skills during orienteering games. This week they needed to find 9 cones using their maps. Each cone had a letter on it. They then needed to unscramble the letters and find the secret word – happiness! Great work p5 🤩
