P5/6 Sustainable Cities

We have been looking at innovation and the impact it has had on our world. Whilst it has given us some incredible developments in technology, it has also caused significant damage to our planet. We looked at ways in which we should live to protect our future. We designed transport that was carbon free, green buildings that were cost effective and urban farms that provided local produce. Here are some of our designs:

Spring Clean

Well done to everyone at Carmondean for doing a huge litter pick today in our school grounds and in the surrounding area. Every class took part and we collected a lot of litter. This was part of the Spring Clean initiative! 🗑️🚮 Here are photos from P5A.

P5A Forest Fun

P5A have been asking to go to the forest as we haven’t been for a while. They showed super teamwork when building dens in the wind! It was quite a challenge with the very large tarpaulins! 💨

P5A Topic and Art

P5A created wonderful portraits of people from the time of the Scottish Wars of Independence. They used black paper, chalk pastels and glue! They look very effective 🤩

Primary 5A Topic

Primary 5A have been learning about weapons used during the Scottish Wars of Independence. They used their knowledge to build a replica weapon using k’nex. They showed super teamwork and were successful building their weapons. We had lots of different weapons including war swords, a mace, a long spear and a war dagger.

P5A Maths and ICT

P5A enjoyed trying out Minecraft Education today. We used it to further our learning about area and perimeter. The class did a great job teaching Mrs Muir about Minecraft! Thanks team! 🤩

P5B-French

Today P5B were learning how to have a conversation in French. The class worked in pairs to create a script and then recorded their conversation on the iPad.
