Primary 6 Outdoor Learning

Primary 6 took part in a wonderful workshop this morning run by Countrypark ranger Luke. They learnt all about the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and completed lots of fun activities to consolidate their learning.

Primary 1a Catch Up

Primary 1 have been loving learning all about what life was life when their grandparents were in Primary 1! They interviewed a family member to hear what school, houses and technology was like in the past. Miss Munro pretended to be a strict teacher from the past, making the children sit at desks and not allowed to talk! We had lots of fun trying out the old fashioned classroom but were glad when we could play again!

They also loved learning about lots of different games and hobbies that children used to play in the past! We learned how to play Peevers (hopscotch), skipping and Kirbie. In class we loved playing Pick-a-Stick, Jacks and Dominoes!

Eco – Tree Buddy Initiative

We were lucky to have some visitors today who helped teach us about climate change. Jim and James from Livingston Outlet Centre visited us as they needed our help! Did you know there are over 1000 workers at the centre? That is a lot of journeys to and from work and a lot of carbon emissions from cars. They have worked out that 100 trees need to be planted every year to offset this carbon emission. We helped them today by planting 5 Silver birch trees with the help from Jack who is a tree expert. We worked well in teams and know how to look after our new trees. We are all Eco Warriors! 🌳🌍🤩

P5A Forest Fun

P5A have been asking to go to the forest as we haven’t been for a while. They showed super teamwork when building dens in the wind! It was quite a challenge with the very large tarpaulins! 💨

Primary 6

P6 really enjoyed learning about Roman numerals. We discovered that hopscotch was a drill used by Roman soldiers so we decided to make our own!

P5A Outdoor learning

P5A have been showing excellent team work and map skills during orienteering games. This week they needed to find 9 cones using their maps. Each cone had a letter on it. They then needed to unscramble the letters and find the secret word – happiness! Great work p5 🤩

Outdoor Learning Fun in P1

Primary 1 have been loving their Outdoor Learning lessons this term! We have been carving pumpkins, building stick skeletons, creating patterns with natural objects and making outdoor number lines!

We are excited for more wintery experiences! Please remember your warm clothes on Tuesdays!
