P5A Outdoor learning

P5A have been showing excellent team work and map skills during orienteering games. This week they needed to find 9 cones using their maps. Each cone had a letter on it. They then needed to unscramble the letters and find the secret word – happiness! Great work p5 🤩

P5B Enterprise

Today P5B created posters to advertise the products they will be selling at the Carmondean Christmas Fair. We discussed the importance of using persuasive language techniques including rhetorical questions and powerful vocabulary.

Primary 2

Primary 2 have had lots of fun estimating today. We worked with a partner to estimate the number of cubes and then counted to check.

P6B at Summerlee

Primary 6 had a wonderful day out at Summerlee museum learning about life in the Victorian era and about the job of a miner from the 1840s onwards. They took a trip down a mine to see how dark, damp and cramped working conditions would be for miners and enjoyed looking around the miner’s cottages to learn about life in a variety of eras. They then took part in a fabulous workshop where they dressed up as Victorian school children, looked at some artefacts and practised copperplate writing.

Primary 5B

As part of outdoor learning, P5B had to match the map symbols with their meanings. Once completed, the class went outside and used a map of the school to locate cones around the playground.

Primary 5A

P5 have had a great few weeks learning handball with the play leaders from the high school. Today was our final session and we’re really looking forward to our handball festival tomorrow. 🤾‍♀️🤾‍♂️🤩
