Primary 5 had a fantastic trip to The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre to round off their topic on The Scottish Wars of Independence. They loved trying on the clothes of knights, archers and foot soldiers as well as handling many of the different weapons used back then. They each became part of the Scottish or English army to take part in a battle re-enactment in the war room!
Well done to everyone at Carmondean for doing a huge litter pick today in our school grounds and in the surrounding area. Every class took part and we collected a lot of litter. This was part of the Spring Clean initiative! Here are photos from P5A.
Our fabulous dance team performed brilliantly in the West Lothian Dance Festival. They showed confidence, and rhythm as they danced to ‘Disturbia’ on stage.
P5A have been asking to go to the forest as we haven’t been for a while. They showed super teamwork when building dens in the wind! It was quite a challenge with the very large tarpaulins!
P5A created wonderful portraits of people from the time of the Scottish Wars of Independence. They used black paper, chalk pastels and glue! They look very effective
P5B were explaining how volcanoes erupt in today’s writing lesson. The class enjoyed looking at pictures of volcanoes and learning about the different types that exist.
Primary 5A have been learning about weapons used during the Scottish Wars of Independence. They used their knowledge to build a replica weapon using k’nex. They showed super teamwork and were successful building their weapons. We had lots of different weapons including war swords, a mace, a long spear and a war dagger.
In HWB, P5 have been researching traditional foods from different parts of the world. The class also designed a celebration meal for Chinese New Year.
