P6B at Summerlee

Primary 6 had a wonderful day out at Summerlee museum learning about life in the Victorian era and about the job of a miner from the 1840s onwards. They took a trip down a mine to see how dark, damp and cramped working conditions would be for miners and enjoyed looking around the minerโ€™s cottages to learn about life in a variety of eras. They then took part in a fabulous workshop where they dressed up as Victorian school children, looked at some artefacts and practised copperplate writing.

Primary 6 have been busy designing and creating an invention to help people. They spent today sharing their learning with parents, staff and pupils across the school. Everyone has done a wonderful job and should be very proud of their work!

Primary 6 rugby festival

Over the past term, Primary 6 have been learning to play touch rugby. They celebrated their learning with a whole stage rugby festival. We were so impressed by the skills the children displayed during their games and the sportsmanship shown to their peers.

Primary 6โ€™s Victorian village

Primary 6 have enjoyed working collaboratively to create a Victorian village display in their classroom. They used their knowledge of Victorian life to create a character for the village and then designed house, shops, factories and schools.
