I know some of you will be very sad to be missing the pyjamas for books event today. I guess you’ll still be able to wear your pyjamas all day though, just not at school!
Anyway, here are a few activities you could try (pyjamas optional) to celebrate World Book Day at home…
- Act out a scene from your favourite book, you may need to get brothers, sisters or friends to help. Perhaps you could film it? (Don’t choose the scene from Holes with the shovel and Mr Pedanski!)
- Create a scene using lego or similar.
- Have you any books at home you haven’t read yet? Now would be a great time to try them out.
- Build a snow character from a book you have read. Or a snow whale!!
- Write a quiz based on When the Whales Came and bring it to school next week for us all to try. (I’ve just found out there is a film of this, I’ll see if I can find it. Maybe you can too?)
- Draw a new front cover for one of our class novels or group readers. You could even write your own blurb.
Hope you’re all having a fun time
Mrs L 🙂
