Within school we have a Rights Respecting Focus Group that is made up of pupil representatives from each year group.
We meet fortnightly and work on the Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) by organising charity events, information days as well as ensuring the pupils know about their rights.
Part of the RRSA is sharing with our local community about the work we do in school and so we thought it would be useful to post past assembly powerpoints that you can look at and discuss again with your children. Click on the link for each powerpoint.
P2-5 spent an exciting day at Stirling Castle. The sun was shining and the day was spent learning about Mary Queen of Scots and James V, as well as searching for features of Medieval castles. On their return, they used the photos they had taken on the iPads to create informative Comic Life displays, ready to share with their families at the Castle Open Morning on Friday.
P2-5 had a wonderful morning showing their families around their Medieval castle and then inviting them to watch Medieval entertainment in the Minstrel’s gallery. The castle looked amazing, thanks to all the pupils’ hard work. Well done P2-5!!
The whole school will be switching off lights, laptops and other electronic equipment on Thursday between 2 and 3pm, in support of WWF’s Earth Hour. The Eco Committee are hoping that families will join in on Saturday night between 8.30 and 9.30pm to show their support for this cause. Check out the ideas on the website: http://earthhour.wwf.org.uk/get-involved.
