Cinema Trip

Primary 2 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the cinema today to see Rio.  We all thought the film had lots of funny moments and enjoyed seeing all the birds flying and singing in Rio.  We especially liked the ending!

Firework Drawings

Primary 2 have been learning about firework safety on Bonfire Night.

We looked at some picture of fireworks and used oil pastels to draw our own fireworks on black paper.  Here are some examples of our work:

We also thought of some words to describe our fireworks.

curvey,  spikey,  swirly,  colourful,  beautiful

We hope you like them.

Fire Station Role Play

Primary 1 and 2 have been playing in our own Fire Station in the Active Learning Room.

The Fire Station was created as part of our People Who Help Us topic.  There is a Fire Engine for pupils to play in, a hose to put out fires, a fire fighters uniform and a reception desk to take emergency calls.

Fire Fighter Visit

On Thursday 27th October, Primary 2 were visitied by some Fire Fighters from Bathgate Fire Station.  They showed us the different parts of their uniform and how they help to keep them safe.  They also spoke to us about keeping safe on Bonfire Night.

We then all went outside and got to use the hose.  We had a great time with the Fire Fighters.

Autumn Walk

Tomorrow Primary 1 and Primary 2 are going on an Autumn Walk around Stoneyburn.  We are going to be searching for the signs of Autumn.
Remember to bring your wellies and warm coats as we might not get the warm weather we had last week!
