Good morning

During lockdown my family have been watching all the Star Wars movies so I thought it would be fun to try out some Star Wars yoga.

Literacy

Over the past few weeks we have been doing a variety of themed scavenger hunts, today I would like you to create your own scavenger hunt for a family member.  You could also send it to the class email and I could try to complete it with my family over the weekend.

Primary 1 Maths

Good afternoon boys and girls.

I hope you are enjoying the fairyland activities and are managing to help the dragon!

This afternoon for maths we would like you to look at your number bonds. We would like you to pick a number from 1-10 and write it in the middle of a piece of paper. We would then like you to try to find as many different ways to make this number. This could be using addition or subtraction. Here is an example below to help you get started.

Have a lovely afternoon

Primary 3 Activities

Good afternoon

Numeracy

Choose a board game to play that involves rolling a dice and counting.  Then I challenge you to create your own board game, it may include counting, number recognition, ordering numbers or skip counting in 2’s, 5’s or 10’s.

Science

This weeks challenge is to make a paper tower. You can only use two ingredients – paper and tape. You can use any tape and paper you have in the house. A top tip is to make your paper into the shape of a tube, they are strong and light and are often used in building real buildings.
The idea is to build it as big as possible. Once you have built it up you can measure it, take a photo and send to the class email.

We would appreciate it if parents could please click on the link below and complete the questionnaire by 26th May.

Primary 1 maths

Good afternoon boys and girls,

It is such a lovely day today I hope you have managed to get outside even if it is for a little walk. Today for maths we would like you to make 10 Frames. Make your own 10 frames using twigs, lollypop sticks or lego. Use different things to fill them you could use pasta or cereal. Ask a grown up to give you a number and fill that many on your ten frame. Ask a grown up to ask you how many are filled? How many empty spaces? Try to answer without counting.

You could even try this whilst you are out for a walk you could collect some twigs and leaves and make your 10 frame and use the leaves for your items to put into the spaces.

This example below has 7 filled and 3 spaces.

Have a lovely day and enjoy the nice weather.

P1 Literacy and PE

Morning everyone,

Hope you all well and safe.

For PE this morning we thought you might like to try something abit different. This mat asks you to make lots of shapes like you did during gymnastics.

Can you make some shapes?

For Literacy today we would like you to continue with some of the work from the Fairyland SWAY from yesterday. Today we would like you to try task 2:

Ask a grown up to help you to find out about castles. Who lives in castles? Why are the windows so small? Why is there water around some castles? What is this called?

With the information you have gathered write an information report about castles using the questions above. Draw a picture of a castle in your jotter and answer the questions. Use the title ‘What is a castle’.
