Primary 2 – Monday 1st June

Good morning boys and girls. Hope you all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine and managed to see a few family and friends outdoors at last. Here are a few tasks for this morning.

LITERACY

  1. Continue to practice your tricky words on your word wall with an adult
  2. Log onto Sumdog and complete the spelling challenge that has been set for you. I will log on and see how you are getting on.
  3. Practice writing your full name

Primary 2 – Friday 29th May

Good morning boys and girl. It’s Friday again. Last few tasks for the week.

WRITING

It’s free writing Friday. Write a story about anything you wish. It might be an adventure about a dinosaur, dragon, princess, dog etc. It might be a letter to someone you miss during lock down. It might be a poster, a card or a leaflet. The choice is yours. Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all safe and well. Here are a few tasks for you to complete this morning.

LITERACY

Practice your handwriting of all the lower and upper case letters in your jotter. Remember to start in the correct place and keep your letters neat and tidy. See the picture below to help you.

MATHS

Practice writing your numbers. Ask an adult to say a number and you write it down . Get them to check it is correct. Try writing numbers from 0-10, 0-50, 0-100, 0-1000. Choose the numbers that you feel most confident in. If you get them all correct then try higher numbers. Try 2 digit, 3 digit and 4 digit numbers. Go even higher if you can.

Count forwards and backwards starting from different numbers. Try counting within 100, beyond 100 and 1000 if you can.

Continue to practice counting in twos, fives and tens starting from different numbers. Try forwards and backwards. Ask someone from your family to test you.

Good morning everyone. How are you today? Here are your tasks for this morning.

LITERACY

Today we will work on nouns. A noun is a naming word. Watch this video below to remind you about nouns

Continue to practice counting to 100 and beyond. Watch this video to help you

Then, ask them to say another number from 0-100 and count backwards until they shout STOP!

Good afternoon boys and girls. Hope you got on well with your tasks this morning. Here are this afternoon’s tasks for you

MATHS

Log onto Sumdog and complete the challenge set for you based on what we have been learning in class this year. I’ll log on and see how you get on. Good luck.

 

Write the number 10 in the middle of your jotter. Around your number 10, write as many ways to make 10 as you can. eg 7+3 or 12-2 or 2×5. Try the number 20 or 30 if you want a challenge.

Complete the ball challenge below in your garden. Remember to be careful if there are other people around.
