Primary 1 Learning Grid

Good morning boys and girls,

Below you have a new learning grid. This grid is slightly different as usually we would be having health week in school. We have instead brought health week to you at home with lots of activities some summer activities and some healthy activities. We hope you enjoy.

Primary 1 Jigsaw

Good morning boys and girls,

Today Jigsaw jack today wants to know about things we like the feel of and things we don’t.

Below is a picture of people holding hands. How do you feel about holding hand? When and with who?

We all feel differently about holding hands. Some of those like the feeling of holding hands with our friends or parents/carers, some of us don’t like holding hands with people we don’t know very well. All these feelings are ok.

Can you think of textures do like the feel of? What textures do you not like the feel of?

Jigsaw jack would like you to think about how you would greet these different people

Friends

Family

Teachers

Different types of greetings are acceptable or not in different situations and it is ok to say no.

In your jotter can you draw a picture of your most favourite person to hug.

Have a great weekend, speak to you on Monday

Primary 1 maths

Good afternoon boys and girls,

Last week you were asked to make your own clock using stones and sticks. This week you are going to do some more work to practise telling the time.

https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/116/telling-the-time

Try to work out which time each clock is, you can write it down or you could discuss this at home with an adult 🙂

Have a lovely day

  3. What number comes before e.g. before 63? is 62.
  4. What number comes 2 before e.g 2 before 24 is 22.

Have a lovely day

Primary 1 Maths

Good afternoon boys and girls,

Today for maths we are going to look at symmetry. We have done lots of work on this. Remember when something is symmetrical it is the same on both sides. You could use lego, hama beads maybe even pasta you could give the pasta some colour with pens if you like.

Why not try this game to practise your matching symmetrical pictures.

Once you have made your symmetrical picture remember to send us a picture 🙂

Primary 1 maths and French

Good afternoon boys and girls 🙂

I hope you have had a lovely weekend and are now back enjoying your learning tasks.

Today for maths can you make a maths game to practise addition and subtraction. I have an example below that you could try. You might want to just try addition on your game, or maybe just try subtraction.

You will need a dice, counter and a piece of paper.

Make your snake and ask an adult to write down some addition and subtraction questions. You can play this with an adult at home. Who can get to the end first?

French

Mrs Grenfell would like you to watch the film of school children in France.  Tell someone in your house the ways it is the same as your school and what ways it is different (not the same).
