Primary 3

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you have all had a relaxing weekend. This week you can continue working through the Home Learning Grid – you will receive a new grid after the Easter holidays. As always, if you have any questions please ask and I really enjoy seeing comments of what you have been up to 🙂

Literacy

1. See if you can remember the Vowel House story and tell an adult in your house. Remember to tell them each sound and do the actions!
2. Pick a sound and write as many words as you can that have that sound in it. (Use your blue jotter for this – remembering the date and title ‘Vowel House’.) Repeat for as many sounds as you like.

e.g.

Monday 30th March 2020
Vowel House
oo
book
look
took
spook
crook
boot
foot
root

Don’t forget, you can hear David Walliams telling a story at 11am. Here is the link for today’s story:

  1. J chose the sound ee. His words are wee, need, speed, teeth, meet, seed, feed, tee, feet and bee.
He enjoyed listening to Tandys Tantrums, has written a couple of sentences about it.
J has also drawn a poster this morning for hand washing.

  2. You have had a busy morning – well done!
If you like, you could try using your ee words in a sentence. Remember capital letters and full stops!

There will be some French activities on the blog shortly, keep your eyes peeled 👀

  3. R told me as much of the story as she could remember, she mentioned a donkey, an old man, a mum, a basement and a ghost
R chose the sound ee and the words she thought if were –
Street, wee, pee, bee, week, tree, feet, deep and three
She has been working through her learning grid as well and we have made a little tuck shop in the house with a price list for snacks and she has to either pay correct money or work out her change

  4. What a good idea with the tuck shop – excellent real life context!

Great work with the Literacy, Numeracy and French today 🙂
