Our Learning Week Ending 27th January 2017

Wit ‘a guid week we’ve had!

We’ve read a selection of Scottish themed stories and used our recall and sequencing skills to retell the story “There was a Wee Lassie who swallowed a Midgie”.  Some of our favourites also included The Grouse and the Mouse and Can’t-Dance-Cameron.

The morning class have enjoyed the 12 week Limelight Music programme developing their listening, rhythm and story to music skills. We have seen every child develop their confidence in new situations and found their voice to sing, speak out and perform.

The parents and carers joined us for the grand finale becoming active participants themselves.

Another successful stay, learn & play week!!

Its been another successful week with parents/carers spending time in the nursery with their child. Children have taken pride in sharing their learning. Children shared the wonderful experiences we offer in nursery to help us as we grow, learn and play together.  As you will see from our photo gallery of this week, we have all gained so much from sharing this experience together, most of all creating memories that we will hold forever.

We look forward to seeing you all again at the next stay, learn and play sessions!

It was a successful stay and play week at Nursery!

The nursery offered parents and carers the opportunity to spend time with their child during Nursery. Providing the opportunity to explore and play. Children shared learning experiences by  demonstrating how resources worked and sharing with the adults the many opportunities to learn both indoors and outdoors.  We had a great attendance with 45 parents and carers attending over the week.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and carers who attended our most recent stay and play session at nursery.  We are aware this is a valuable experience for everyone and we look forward to planing our next stay and play week soon!

Successful stay & play session for our 2 year olds

Our two year old provision invited parents and carers into the nursery for a stay & play session. This was a fantastic opportunity for our youngest children to demonstrate what they enjoy about nursery. It was fantastic to see everyone participating in activities together, exploring the playroom and providing children the opportunity, to share their learning.

Stay and Play

This week in nursery we invited our parents and carers into the nursery to stay and play and share our learning. We had a fabulous time reading stories, painting, buiding in the construction area, using computers and beebots and having snack together.

Thankyou all for coming along and we look forward to seeing you at our next stay and play session.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar story telling walk

This week in the nursery we helped to celebrate West Lothian Walking Week. We invited our parents, carers and families to join us in the nursery to listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar story and to participate in some craft activities. We then made a human caterpillar and went on a wriggly wiggly walk around the nursery. After all the activities and walking we all had a healthy snack and tasted some of the healthy foods that helped the caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly. We were learning about healthy foods and that walking and being active is a healthy way to be.
