Minibeasts
Today we have observed the children trying to find Minibeasts in the garden. The children have been using magnifying glasses to help us find them and Mrs McNee created a fantastic worksheet with photographs of the many different Minibeasts we can discover in our garden. We aim to extend our learning about these very small creatures further as we learn the names of the Minibeast and discover more about what they look like.

Another successful stay, learn & play week!!
Its been another successful week with parents/carers spending time in the nursery with their child. Children have taken pride in sharing their learning. Children shared the wonderful experiences we offer in nursery to help us as we grow, learn and play together. As you will see from our photo gallery of this week, we have all gained so much from sharing this experience together, most of all creating memories that we will hold forever.
We look forward to seeing you all again at the next stay, learn and play sessions!
Fairtrade Fortnight
Over the next two weeks the children will be investigating and learning about Fairtrade. Children will be bringing home the Fairtrade logo from nursery and are being encouraged to see if they can find any Fairtrade products at home. We would be very grateful if children could bring in any labeling or empty packaging that displays the Fairtrade logo from home. We will be recycling labeling and packages, to use on our Fairtrade investigation table.
The Children will be listening to stories, playing games and will be involved in lots of discussions about Fairtrade.
If you would like to learn about fairtrade, follow the informative link below or why not ask the nursery staff to share our learning with you.
It was a successful stay and play week at Nursery!
The nursery offered parents and carers the opportunity to spend time with their child during Nursery. Providing the opportunity to explore and play. Children shared learning experiences by demonstrating how resources worked and sharing with the adults the many opportunities to learn both indoors and outdoors. We had a great attendance with 45 parents and carers attending over the week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and carers who attended our most recent stay and play session at nursery. We are aware this is a valuable experience for everyone and we look forward to planing our next stay and play week soon!
Chinese New Year

Successful stay & play session for our 2 year olds
Our two year old provision invited parents and carers into the nursery for a stay & play session. This was a fantastic opportunity for our youngest children to demonstrate what they enjoy about nursery. It was fantastic to see everyone participating in activities together, exploring the playroom and providing children the opportunity, to share their learning.
Bagpipes are noisy!
We had the pleasure of a special visitor “Mrs Angus” who came along on both Monday morning and afternoon to play her bagpipes. This was an exciting experience for all the children, with some of the children not knowing what to expect from the instrument. The children when asked, guessed the colour of the bagpipes and counted the three pipes. The children described the bagpipes as, noisy, loud and sounding like a car horn!

Children are sampling tartan and looking at photographs of kilts. This week children are exploring how to make tartan and creating some tartan with paint and variety of collage materials. We will be exploring our senses as we look, smell and taste…Oatcakes, cheese, porridge, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.
We are also very excited to announce that we will be fortunate enough to have a special visitor on Monday 25th January to play us some traditional bagpipe music both in the morning and afternoon nursery sessions.
