Good Morning Everyone!

What a week of learning we have had this week!  We have continued with our traditional tales and have focused on Goldilocks, matching, sorting and ordering size.

We also received our learning packs full of activities and resources to support our learning.  Mrs Olford, Mrs McNee, Mrs Pitblado and Mrs Duffy will add more activities using these resources to our Learning Journals next week.

Next Tuesday would have been our annual Sports Day on the Vennie field.  So, get your trainers dusted off and get ready for sporting challenges!  Details will be  added to your learners journal next week.

Mrs Olford and Mrs Woods will also be launching our new Rhyme Time sessions on Thursday.  More information to follow…..

Remember to take a photograph and share your learning on your Learners Journal.

Have a lovely weekend

Good Morning

Do you remember in the Three Little Pigs story where the pigs were “in” the houses and the wolf was “on top” of the houses?

Todays challenge is to see where you could put the characters from our stories. If you managed to make puppets for Jack And The Beanstalk or The Three Little Pigs you could use these. If you didn’t don’t worry you can still join in with todays activity using a teddy, doll or your favourite character. Mrs Glidden, Mrs Prentice and I have been busy finding lots of positions for our characters and you can see them below.

Can you spot which is “on-top”, “under”, “beside”and “in” ?

How many different positions can your character achieve in and around your house?

Can you use the positional words to describe this.?

We would love to see pictures of where your characters end up on your Learners Journal

Have fun

Good morning

I hope you enjoyed the Three Pigs Story. 🐷🐷🐷🐺
Which was your favourite house?🏠 I liked the brick house because it was so strong that the wolf couldn’t blow it down.

Mrs Farqhuar, Mrs Woods and Mrs Glidden have had lots of fun building houses using different things we have found in and around our homes. You can see the pictures below.

Could you build a house for a pig ? The wolf used his puffs to blow down two of the pigs houses.
Will your house fall down? What will make it fall down?

We would love to see your houses. You could post pictures on your learners journal for us to see.

Happy building

Good Morning

We love traditional tales in Nursery so I thought we would share another one with you today which you can find on your Learners Journal. I hope you enjoy it.

Maybe you could retell this story with your family too ?.

Mrs McNee , Mrs Farquhar and I have had lots of fun making the characters and houses from the story which you can see below🐷🐷🐷🐺You could try this too.

Can you remember the rhyme the wolf and pigs said in the story? Maybe you can use a loud voice for the Wolf and a quiet voice for the pigs ?

We would love to hear about your story telling in the parents contributions on your learners journal .

Have Fun

Good afternoon

Did you enjoy the story of Jack and The Bean Stalk last week and the selection of activities that we suggested ?

Mrs Woods has made a video telling the story of Jack and the beanstalk using puppets which she made herself which you can see on your Learners Journal today.

Mrs Farquhar and Mrs Glidden have also been busy making some Jack and The Beanstalk puppets which you can see below.

Maybe you could make your own puppets to help you to retell the story to your family?

You could use what ever you want and your puppets can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. We would love to see what you create and hear about how well you can retell a story.

Please share you learning with us on your Learners Journal

Happy story telling!

Good Afternoon Everyone

Did you enjoy the story of Jack and the Beanstalk this week?    How tall was that beanstalk ?

I thought for today’s challenge we could look out for trees or plants of different sizes while we are out for our daily walk or even in the garden.

Can you find a tree or plant that is bigger than you, one that is smaller than you and one that is the same size as you ? Mrs Duffy, Mrs Woods, Mrs Glidden, Mrs Pitlabo an myself have all taken on the challenge and you can see the pictures below.

Please share you learning with us on your Learners Journal

Happy Hunting

Good afternoon everyone

Did you manage to gather the things you needed to plant your seed?

Please watch the video on your Learners Journal to see Mrs Glidden explain today’s challenge.  Have a look below at Mrs Glidden’s photograph of her with her apple tree.  She planted an apple seed many years ago and now has a tree taller than her!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Did you manage to find any fruit or vegetables that had any seeds? I found a few and have added my photographs for you to look at.

Tomorrow Mrs Glidden is going to show us what to do with them so today your challenge it to get all the things you will need to plant our seeds to grown.

You will need to find

A plastic pot. A yogurt pot would be ideal for this.
A little soil. Soil from your garden will be perfect but you can also use some from a bag of compost. Have a look and see what you can find.
A piece of paper
A pen
You will need to write a label of what your seed is. You can do this by writing the word or drawing a picture of it.

Remember to share your learning with us on your online Learners Journal.

Have Fun!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I have recorded of one of our favourite stories and added it to our Youtube Channel.   You can access it here or by scanning the QR Code

I don’t have any beans or seeds for planting like Jack did but wondered if there are any beans or seeds in my house that I could possibly plant and grow into a tall bean stalk.
I’ve got a variety of fruits in my kitchen which I am going to cut open when I am ready to eat them and see if they have any seeds that I can use to plant.

Your challenge today is to listen the story and have a look in your house to find any possible seeds that you could grow.

Please share what you find on your Learners Journal.

Have fun!
Mrs Olford
