  • Star Awards 2015 — nominations are now open

Our annual Star Awards celebrate the best in education and training across 14 different categories — from school and college candidates to appointees and centres.

See the stars come out — nominate your stars today at www.sqa.org.uk/star

The closing date for entries is Friday 26 June 2015. If you have any enquiries about the nomination process, please call our Events team on 0345 213 5580.

  • NQ verification — Round 2 outcomes

Outcome reports and records for all Round 2 verification activity will be available via ‘QA Secure Services’ on SQA Connect by Friday 5 June.

The NQ Verification team will be on hand to provide support and guidance following the publication of verification outcomes. Should your centre receive a ‘Not Accepted’ decision following verification activity, further information on what to do next will be provided by e-mail. The NQ Verification team will also be able to assist further. Please do not hesitate to contact them on 0345 213 6766 or e-mail nqverification@sqa.org.uk

An updated SQA Connect user guide will also be published to assist centres with viewing their selections and verification outcomes.

  • Estimates

All estimates for National Courses (excluding PBNCs) should have been submitted before the end of April.

It is important that you continue to monitor and, where required, amend estimates to ensure accuracy.

Centres with outstanding estimates must submit this data as quickly as possible as it will impact on the completeness and accuracy of the results issued to candidates in August. In addition, centres cannot request Exceptional Circumstances Consideration unless a valid estimate has been submitted for a candidate.

Should you have any questions about estimates, please telephone 0345 213 6960 or e-mail estimates@sqa.org.uk

  • Marker opportunities

We are continuing to accept applications for Markers from enthusiastic and committed teaching professionals who meet the selection criteria. Positions are filled on a first-come first-served basis — applications received after Markers are appointed will be placed on the reserve marker list for future opportunities in marking.

You can find more information on becoming an SQA Marker atwww.sqa.org.uk/cfeappointeevacancies

  • SQA Journeys

Scotland’s future lies in the hands of our young people — the workforce of tomorrow. SQA has created ‘Journeys’ to help develop Scotland’s young workforce and to highlight the skills needed to progress and succeed in the workplace.

SQA Journeys include overviews of different sectors, case studies featuring young people, quotes from recognised industry bodies and employers, and details of SQA qualifications available.
