Row, Row, Row The Boat

Autumn has arrived and the children have noticed the changes taking place in our garden.  We have been talking about this and have lots of activities available to support the children in their learning about the world around us.

From today we will be visiting the local woodland which was a firm favourite with adults and children last year.

Autumn has arrived! It can be a beautiful time of year and a great opportunity to get out and about, searching for  signs of the changing season.

Hickory Dickory Dock

This week in Ladywell nursery the children have shown interest in making camp fires thorough their role play.  A talking tub box was then introduced to the children to further develop their knowledge of camping and what you need when you go camping.  They were shown metal cutlery, bowls, flint and steal, peg tents, folding seat, charcoal, hammer and a wooden cutlery set along with pots and a teapot.  They were particularly interested in the flint and steal as it created a spark which showed them how you would light a fire.  Next week we will be exploring the experience of camping through stories.

Hey Diddle Diddle

We are going to enjoy Goldilocks at Inveralmond and The Three Little Pigs  at Ladywell for one more week before launching a new Story Of The Month on October 5th. The focus is on telling the whole story in the  correct sequence, asking who, what and where questions.
