Rhyme Time

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle diddle,

The cat and the fiddle,

The cow jumped over the moon,

The little dog laughed to see such fun,

And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Can you hear the rhyming words? They are the words that sound the same at the end, so, diddle rhymes with fiddle, moon rhymes with spoon.

Listen to this story and see if you can hear some other rhyming words

Round and round the garden like a teddy bear,

One step , two steps and tickly under there!

This version of Horsey, Horsey has a few more words but you will be able to join in with the chorus!

Can you trot around the room like a horse?

Rhyme Time

Horsey, Horsey.

Horsey, horsey don’t you stop,

Just let your feet go clippety clop.

Your tail goes swish ,

Your wheels go round.

Giddy up, giddy up,

We’re homeward bound.

Don’t worry if you are not sure of the tune, pat your knees one by one to sound like the horse’s hooves and say the words in time to the beat.

Look for horses in the fields if you are out and about in West Lothian this week. You might see some new born lambs soon too.

I saw some snowdrops at the weekend and the bulbs in my garden are beginning to push through the soil.

All signs that Spring is on it’s way.
