As many of you know there were multiple forest fires between Fauldhouse and Greenrigg at the start of the month. Firefighters worked extremely hard to keep them under control.
A news report about the fires and photos of the devastation can be seen here:Â https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/west-lothian-fire-shocking-photos-18338586
Area Commander Farquharson, said: “We will always do our utmost to protect our communities, and to save life and property from harm at all times – but we also need the public to help us.”
We would like you to design a ‘thank you’ card that we can share with the brave fire fighters. It would be great to see some illustrations and tips on how to avoid forest fires (e.g. don’t drop cigarette butts, don’t use BBQs etc)
You can upload your design to your TEAMs page or take a photo and email it to the school wlfallahill-ps@westlothian.org.uk
At Falla Hill one of our values is all about the sense of ‘belonging’.
At the moment there are many people in care homes in the village who might be feeling a bit lonely as they are not allowed their usual visitors.
Here’s where you can help…
Create a little card or letter to cheer up the residents and put a smile on their faces.
Your card can be dropped off at St John’s PS until the end of June. There will be a ‘drop-box’ to allow for social distancing.
We hope you had a lovely ‘day off’ yesterday.
We have been so busy with all of our learning in P1 that our first sway is now full.
Here is our brand new sway which will continue to be updated with new learning content.

You can still visit our first sway too 🙂

Hi everyone, we hope you all had a lovely break over Easter and have been enjoying the lovely Spring weather. As part of your RME work we would love it if you could draw a picture including as many animals and Spring plants that you can think of. Remember to colour your picture carefully.
P.S. Remember to check out the P1 sway for more exciting learning activities 🙂

P3-7 have been busy developing STEM throughout the school…have a look at this link for more information and photos!

We are working really hard to encourage the boys and girls from P1 – P7 to enjoy and take part in STEM. | |

Mrs Burns and Ms Rainey better watch out, there’s a new teacher in town! The boys are practising their counting strategies during spontaneous play. Amazing how something new in the water tray inspires lots of imagination. In case you are wondering, the children are making ‘jelly’ and are going to ‘put it in the fridge until quarter past six!’
Check out our Healthy Food Sway…we’ll be adding more to it over the coming weeks!
