Killin Nursery and Crianlarich Nursery are both rural stand-alone nurseries who share the same Head of Establishment. Killin Nursery is open for 47.8 weeks of the year and Crianlarich Nursery is open for 37.6 weeks of the year. Children from Crianlarich Nursery can access provision at Killin if they have the 47.8 week contract.

Killin Nursery is situated in the centre of the village behind the primary school with views of Sron a Clachain and the Tarmachans.

The nursery building was originally part of the school for Killin and the surrounding area. The nursery was opened in 1996, and operates separately to the school. It is open all year round and is located in an adjoining building to the rear of the Primary School.

How to access Killin Nursery. Using the small metal gate and walking through the school playground, access is gained via a wooden entrance gate. Killin has a security entry system at the front door, which has an audio and visual communication link for the staff in each playroom. There are no other points of entry/exit (other than fire exits) for parents and children. There is an outdoor play area at the front of the nursery building with artificial grass and outdoor equipment and resources.

An additional outdoor learning space can be found at the northern end of the park by the Sports Pavilion. Here, groups of practitioners and children can enjoy learning outdoors within a safe space.

Crianlarich Nursery is situated in the centre of the village between the Primary School and the Police Station with views of Ben More and the Strathfillan area.

The nursery building is the Old School House which was the Head Mistress’ home. A satellite provision was held in the village hall and after a short spell The Old School House was converted to a nursery in the year 2000. Similarly to Killin Nursery, Crianlarich operates independently of the school, however it is only open term time.

How to access Crianlarich Nursery. The nursery has two pedestrian entrance gates, one off the main street and one from the front of the school grounds. There is also a gate in the back garden to access the school playground. Crianlarich has a security entry system at the front door, which has an audio and visual communication link for the staff in each playroom. There is a grassed play area to the front and rear of the nursery with outdoor resources and equipment.
