School Uniform Update from ALJ

If you are requiring/ordering uniforms from ALJ for next session, please see their message below.

Message from ALJ (COVID-19 Update)

In line with the Current Government Guidelines we are still unable to open the shop, and as yet, still do not have a date as to when this may be allowed. We are currently looking at measures to safely re-open when the lockdown has been lifted and the public is allowed to go out and purchase non-essential items. Even once lockdown is over, there will still be social distancing in the shop as the safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority. We will be putting measures in place to facilitate this and we will advise you of any new updates once they have been implemented.

Primary Uniform
As we had already received all our Primary School Stock in before lockdown began, we have updated our Web Page to include all our present stock and recommend that parents purchase from here if at all possible. This will guarantee parents delivery of the items they require before stocks run out.
Blazers, Jackets, bags, etc, can be pre-ordered via the WEB . If available from stock at the time of ordering they will be sent out with the order, and if not available at the time of ordering, they will be shipped out separately as soon as they become available.
This year, due to the unprecedented times were are in, we are having to place only one order for these items to guarantee delivery, therefore, a cut-off point for ordering has to be applied………this will be SATURDAY 18th JULY 2020.
The same applies for trousers, pinafores, shirts etc. We need to hold orders until we have enough to order, this means that it could take a couple of weeks for us to get more stock in and ship the balance of your order.
Senior Uniform
LANARK GRAMMAR:
All available stock for Blazers, Gym T-shirts (if applicable) & Ties are on the Web with a size chart guide for the Blazers to assist with the purchase – the new stock orders have not arrived yet as they have been delayed due to COVID-19.  They are estimated, all going according to schedule, to arrive around the start of JUNE, at which time we will update both the WEB and any changes in the guidelines regarding us opening up the shop in some capacity.
There is a size chart guide to assist with ordering, there is an option to pre-order via the WEB and orders will be sent out when the blazers arrive in stock.
We trust that you understand that this situation is completely outwith our control and we are implementing the necessary measures to keep up the supply of uniforms to our customers, while at the same time keeping them safe and conforming to the Government Guidelines.

We would like to emphasis that the safest and preferred method of purchase at this time would be via the WEB – www.aljonline.co.uk

Take care and stay safe  💕

Support during school closure

South Lanarkshire Council are offering families a range of supports, which will be delivered directly to homes to support them at this difficult time. These include:

  • Sanitary products
  • IT device
  • Internet Access
  • Physical resources, e.g. pens, paper, ruler, chalk, pain, scissors, glue, cellotape, whiteboard etc.

If you require any of these supports, please contact us on emergencyclosurerps@glow.sch.uk, stating what support you require. Alternatively, staff members will be phoning families over the next week to check in, so please let them know if you require any of these supports.

Free School Meals- COVID-19

From Friday 3 April there are new arrangements in place for children who are entitled to free school meals. Instead of packed lunches, £30 PayPoint vouchers will be sent directly to you fortnightly using the mobile phone numbers or email addresses South Lanarkshire Council already hold for you. If they don’t have your number or email they will post the vouchers to you. Parents/carers of eligible children do not need to apply for this payment. The first £30 payments will be made on Friday 3 April, covering weeks commencing 30 March and 6 April. Payments will be made only to those entitled to means-tested free school meals. This includes children in Primaries 1 to 3, who will be assessed for free school meal entitlement. Again, this is in line with Scottish Government guidelines.
