Murray Primary will be open on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th of March to provide emergency childcare for children of Key Workers who cannot secure personal, alternative childcare arrangements. The list of Key Workers identified by South Lanarkshire Council is shown below. This service is only for those families whose children are well and healthy and who cannot make alternative childcare arrangements.
Free school meals will be available for eligible pupils between 12.00 noon and 1.00pm. For families choosing to take up this option; pupils eligible for a free meal should be brought to school by a parent and enter via the main entrance.
Key Workers have been identified by South Lanarkshire Council as;
- Health and Care Workers supporting COVID and associated staff
- Health and Care workers supporting life threatening emergency work
- Critical Primary and Community Care provision
- Energy Suppliers
- Staff providing childcare for other category staff; Teachers and all other School Staff including Facilities
- All Emergency Service Workers, children of all NHS staff, Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance and the Prison service.
If Key Workers are able to make alternative childcare arrangements this should be done in the first instance. For example if the other parent or carer does not fall into the Key Worker category and can provide childcare.
From the available information we expect to have very few pupils attending Murray Primary School on Monday and Tuesday. Any pupils attending should be brought to the main entrance from 9.00am and will be dismissed from the main entrance at 3.00pm. We will be following NHS guidance regarding social distancing and safe hygiene practices.
Heartfelt wishes to all our families to stay safe during these unprecedented times.
