Education Appeal Committee

South Lanarkshire Council’s Administration and Legal Services is seeking parent members for the Education Appeal Committee, which deals with appeals against placing request decisions and school exclusions. Committee hearings usually take place by videoconference throughout the year, with most in late June. This voluntary unpaid role is an opportunity to participate in important decisions which affect not just the pupils and families involved but educational arrangements across South Lanarkshire. To be considered you must be a parent of a school-age child in South Lanarkshire and must not work in Education Resources. You need to have reasonable daytime availability as hearings take place during working hours. Full training will be provided. For more information, please contact Moira.Cooper@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or Gerry.Mays@southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
