A large majority of the group were confident with ‘wh’ last week but found ‘ph’ tricky so we’re going to spend another week on them. If you feel your child is confident with these particular ‘ph’ words, they could be challenged by finding ‘ph’ words that are not on their list.

A spelling test and dictation will be done at the end of the week in class to ensure the children are secure before they progress.

Maths
The children have been given a mental maths booklet to encourage fast recall of addition number facts. This can be worked on in the upcoming weeks, one page per week.

Additionally, we have been revising jigsaw numbers within 10 in class. You could go over this with your child at home. We are also working on reading and writing numbers 0-100. Following this we will progress to ordering numbers in ascending and descending order.
