At our nursery, we use a special outdoor space called Mr McWheelies, where all children have the opportunity to explore and learn how to ride a bike.
This garden area is equipped with a variety of bikes from balance bikes to pedal bikes, allowing children to progress at their own pace. Learning to ride is a big milestone, and through this experience, children build balance, stride, and confidence with every turn of the wheel.
It’s also a space where children learn important social skills like taking turns, making friends, and supporting one another.
