Our Curriculum Rationale

Our curriculum is based on the principles of Curriculum for Excellence and is designed to offer high-quality, inclusive, and child-centred learning experiences.

At the heart of our approach are the four capacities, helping every child become a:

  • Successful Learner – curious and engaged
  • Confident Individual – secure and expressive
  • Responsible Citizen – respectful and inclusive

We deliver learning through four key contexts:

Our play-based curriculum balances:

  • Intentional provocations – planned invitations to explore and create
  • Responsive planning – adapting to children’s interests and needs

We bring our curriculum to life through continuous provision, skilled adult interactions, and nurturing relationships. Tools like online learning journals and learning walls help us share and reflect on learning.

Ongoing self-evaluation ensures we are always growing and improving, with the ultimate goal of supporting every child to thrive, learn, and feel valued.
