Good Morning Everyone!
We hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.
We are missing everyone and hope you are all keeping well.
Today is th start of a new week and we hope you have another fun-filled week of learning.
We hope you are all well and making the most of the amazing weather.
Today we thought we would set a challenge for outdoors. This is the tenth week of lockdown and you may be bored with the toys and games you have in the house. So we are asking you to get your thinking caps on and create your own game to play outside. You have to create your games using things you have around the house or natural items from outdoors.
Once you have created your game, send some photos along with the rules of the game or how to play to our nursery email account.

We cant wait to see all your great ideas.
Little ones (and grown ups) may be experiencing a range of emotions right now🌈
We’ve selected 12 picture books that could be a springboard for families to explore these emotions further.

The boys and girls have been having fun over the holiday weekend. They have been learning lots and keeping busy.
Well done everyone. Fantastic work!
In nursery we are always counting. We count how many boys and girls there are, we count out how much snack to have, how many boys and girls going outside…
We are always counting. The Question for today is “Are you counting at home? ”
To keep up our excellent number skills we need to keep using them. So we would like you to think of things you could count at home? What number can you count to? Do you know the sequence numbers come in? Start with 0 to 10. If you want a challenge you could;
* go beyond ten
*work on number recognition- do you know what they look like?
*can you write them?
*if they are mixed up, can you put them in the correct order?
*can you identify missing numbers from a sequence.
Have fun exploring numbers, and dont forget to send your photos and videos.❤
Missing you all, take care x
At Cairns we are all part of an awesome team. A team that is friendly, welcoming, hard working, enthusiastic, happy, kind, caring…to name but a few things. We put together a little video to remind you all of how amazing you are and remind you that we are missing you all and hope to see you soon x
In nursery we sing lots of nursery rhymes and songs, but have you been practising at home?
A good song to practise at home is our alphabet song. This helps us to remember our alphabet and when we use the video, it helps our letter recognition.
Use the link below and practise at home.
Everyones name is special and is part of who we are.
Todays task is to practise writing your name. Once you have written it, sound out the letters with someone at home. Do you know the letter name and the sound?
Can you think of something that starts with the letters of your name? Draw a picture of the item next to the letter in your name.
See the example below.
I can’t wait to see your ideas.
Act out your favourite story. Use puppets, toys, or even dress up at home and act our your favourite story. Remember to include all of the characters and the main events.
You could get someone at home to video it and send it to us😊
Read your favourite story with a grown up at home. Can you re- tell the story? Don’t forget the characters or the events. Did you remember them in the correct order?
Now here’s the challenge, were it gets a bit tricky…
Can you change the story? If you could re-write the story and add a character or change the beginning, middle or end, what would happen? Can you make it more exciting? Can you add adventure?
You can use your imagination to make anything happen in the story. Share with us your new version.
