Hi everyone,
We have put together a little video for you to meet all of our Nursery staff. This video will give you a little information on each member of staff, which group they look after and what their favourite thing about nursery is.
Children have been showing off their number skills and working with numbers to ten. We have been counting, ordering and sequencing numbers in lots of different ways.
We have been looking after our nursery garden over the first term and spending lots of time outside. We cut-back and pruned our nurseey garden and re-potted and tidied our herb garden.
The children have enjoyed bringing the herbs inside ans using them in their sensory play.
The children have had a busy morning. They have been playing group games working on sharing and turn taking.
They have been building great towers using different shapes of blocks.
And they have been carrying out experiments to make mini volcanoes from lemons.
We are having snack in the gym hall and we really enjoy sitting in our groups and getting to know one another.
Lunchtimes have been running smoothly and after lunch we like to do some yoga to relax.
Wishing all our children and their families a safe and relaxing September Weekend! Reminder, Tuesday 29th September is an Inservice Day, the school will reopen to pupils on Wednesday 30th September.
Recently we have been spending lots of time in our nursery and sensory garden. The children noticed that the birds haven’t been visiting as regularly as they use to 😪 So they decided to make some bird feeders to encourage them to come back. During the activities the children spoke about how they would like the birds to visit them at home and that they may enjoy sharing their learning at home. Miss Revie thought this was a great idea and made little resource bags for the children to take home. They have been busy learning at home and made a great job of their bird feeders. I am sure they will have lots of visitors.

We have been very busy in nursery this week. We have been spending lots of time in the garden, planting with Miss Revie and Mrs Hutcheson. We have been doing lots of work on name recognition and we had fun playing a game of splat the name. We have been looking at light and colour and how it moves. Mrs McDougall and Miss Sherry have been teaching us all about working together and making friends, and we have read lots of stories about friends.
We have had a massive focus on personal hygiene and how to keep safe from germs. The children have been doing hand washing experiments with glitter and have been helping each other with their hand washing. We made posters to tell people in nursery and school how to keep safe.
Since being back in nursery we have been looking after our health and wellbeing and focussing on how we feel. We have been reading ‘Lucy’s Blue Day’ and talking about all of the different things we feel.
The children have been keen to share what makes them happy. They have been creating happy faces and they put on a puppet show.
