Green group snapshot of learning

Week beginning 16/11/2020

The Green group made the most out of the 4 day week and were very busy.

They have been trying new ways to sign in, in the morning. They were looking for the missing letters in their name and mark making to add them in.

They took part in some sensory play. They enjoyed getting messy.

They also explore colour and shape through pattern. They made beautiful patterns using repetition and they are now up on the wall in nursery.

The Green group have also been exploring space.

We have been working with space rocks. We have been using them to compare sizes.  Grace, Sofia and Jacob were excellent at comparing sizes and all the children were learning new descriptive language and how to use it.

Oscar and Mankirat have been doing some great reading. Grace has been practising her name.

We created sparkly space pictures, choosing the resources we thought would look like the sky. Mankirat really enjoyed this activity.

Aria has been practising her counting using the compare 🐻 bears.

We have been spending lots of time outdoors and the children have been using apparatus to work on their balancing skills. Daniel has great fun.

We love our playroom and want to look after it, so when there was a bit of a mess on the floor, we all took a turn of the hoover to clean it up.

We all took part in Children in need activities to raise money for charity.

Purple group snapshot 09.11.2020

The purple group have been working on their fine motor skills.

We used loose parts to follow different lines. Enzo and Emma were experts at this. Lucas and chloe used the loose parts to be creative and re-create poppies.

We created our own art using sparkles from our interest in space and the sky.

We have been working within numbers to 10 and Sophie did a great job of sequencing them.

We all celebrated Children in Need day and took part in lots of activities. We made our own Children in Need Pudsey Ears.

Blue group snapshot 09.11.2020

The Blue group enjoyed the book ‘Whatever Next’ so much that they are still talking about it this week.

We have been finding out what the moon is made of and what might live there.

Jackson and Nathan really enjoyed making aliens using playdough. Jackson then made one from k’nex.

Lily and Josh enjoyed some mark making with shaving foam. We love sensory play.

We have been practising name recognition in different ways each week and we are getting really good at it. Cooper, Leah and Julia are getting really quick at identifying their name.

Outdoors we used resources to create our own space rocket we could all fit in. It was so much fun, we went to the moon.

We raised money for Children in Need. We had a wee party and decorated biscuits. Harris took great care icing his.

Great work everyone!

Yellow group snapshot 09.11.20

The yellow group have been exploring space this week. They have been building rockets, using the small blocks then taking their learning outside to create a massive rocket. Stephen, Sebastian and Carson and Leo James made helmets for the rocket. The enjoyed small world with the mini figures and rocket. Leo James, Lucie and Savannah all played well together.

They took the giant chalk outside and had fun drawing the playground. Emily really enjoyed this.

We have been working on name recognition and the xhildren have been using the magnetic letters to help them.

We also enjoyed sensory play this week, we enjoyed having the water tray back in the playroom.

We all learned about poppies and raised money for children in need. Hollie did some great colouring of Pudsey and Lily- Ruth had some great face paint.

Fantastic Learning 👏

Children in Need 2020!

The children had great fun today taking part in activities for Children in Need. They looked great in all their Pudsey tshirts, jumpers and PJs. They decorated biscuits, made Pudsey from playdough, decorated Pudsey with spots and made their very own Pudsey ears.

We had an extra special snack and the children all loved having a wee dance after.

Creative kids

Children have been exploring large and small loose parts to create houses. They worked together to create amazing outcomes and enjoyed sharing what they had made with friends and the ladies.

Exploring sounds

Over the past few weeks we have been exploring sounds. We have a sound of the week and each week and the children explore this in a number of different resources

This weeks letter is T!
