Home Learning 14/01/21 Day 4 with Mrs Hutcheson

Today’s tasks have been set by Mrs Hutcheson. She is looking forward to seeing all of your home learning and will be looking out for your photos throughout the day.

Literacy

Here is a challenge linked to the Gruffalo. The characters in the story all tell us about where they live. The fox in his underground house, the owl in his treetop house and the snake in his log pile house. Use items from around the house to make houses for the characters in the story. You might want to make one for the Gruffalo and the mouse as well.

Mrs Hutcheson accepted her challenge and made some homes for the characters from playdough. Have a go at home and send in photos of your creations.

Numeracy

Today there is a game for you to make and play with someone at home. We hope you have lots of fun! et us know who finds the most pairs.

Skills we are focussing on are number recognition, counting and memory.

Health and Wellbeing

The weather hasn’t been great this week and we might have been spending a bit of time indoors. To get our bodies moving, how about doing Yoga. We love taking part in yoga at nursery so I have included a link below for you to try it at home. This one is linked to our Gruffalo story.

Gruffalo Yoga

If you enjoyed taking part in the Gruffalo Yoga, here is a little extra link for you to do at home.

Day 3 fantastic home learning

The children loved the tasks set by Ms McDougall and looked like they had lots of fun getting involved.

Home Learning 13/01/21 Day 3 with Ms McDougall

Today’s tasks have been set by Ms McDougall. She is so excited to see all of your home learning and will be looking out for your photos throughout the day.

Literacy

Can you use your playdough in your pack and loose parts (stones/buttons/lego)to make the initials of your name?

Numeracy How many socks are you?

Ask someone in your house to measure you using socks and count them, then ask if someone else will lie down for you to measure them in socks.  Are you taller or shorter than them?  Who has the most socks?

Miss McDougall carried out this activity with her son, can you count our socks and tell us who had the most?  Remember to help pair all the socks back up again when you are finished😊

Health & Wellbeing

Who is in your heart?  Ask someone in your house to help you draw a heart and if you feel confident and have an adult beside you, cut out sections of your heart and write or draw on the pieces who makes up your heart.  It can be a toy, a relative, a sibling, your favourite food, your favourite tv show.  Whatever makes you happy 😊

Miss McDougall drew her own heart and put the things in that filled hers.  Send us a picture so we can see who or what filled yours.

Have fun!

Some future TV stars in the making…

Some of our children made videos to share their learning at home.

Hannah practising her ‘d’

Amelia and her sister learned a dance from GoNoodle!

And Lucy teaching us all how to write the letter ‘d’!

Fantastic work everyone!

p.s if these videos don’t work, click the top right corner to open it in a new window, sometimes they just need a little space:D

Amazing effort!

We have been so impressed with the boys and girls home learning. They are keen to take part and share what they have been doing at home. We re super proud of you!
