Homework week beginning 11th Nov

Happy Monday Room 13!

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and looking forward to a week that isn’t jam packed with STEM preparations!!

Three homework tasks this week:

– Spelling words will be copied into homework jotters in class.

– Please write each word out three times (neatest handwriting)

*I have noticed that some people are using in excess of 4 or 5 pages for their spelling tasks.  Please try to keep your homework concise so we aren’t wasting paper!

I would like you to complete at least 15 minutes of Sumdog.  However, I will award personal points to the three pupil’s who complete the most amount of time by Friday morning.

I am happy for you to choose the tasks / activities you complete.  I have, however, left some suggestions for each group below in case you would like to work on the same topics we are working on in class:

Triangles – Money or Time

Squares – Division

Circles – Multiplication

Rectangles – Addition or Place Value

All homework is to be handed in by Friday morning.  For anyone who cannot log into Sumdog, please complete some multiplication practice with a parent / guardian and have them write a comment in your homework jotter to confirm this has been done.

Finally I would like each of you to create an A4  poster for one Victorian invention.  These will be handed out in class.  We will put all of these together on Friday to create our very own Victorian inventions timeline outside the classroom.  Your poster should include three things:

– The year your invention was created should be at the top of your A4 sheet, nice and big, so it stands out.

– It needs to include some BRIEF information about your invention.  Remember not to pack it full of information.  Short bursts of information dotted around your poster makes it much more appealing to the reader.

– A picture of your invention.  This can be hand drawn or printed off and stuck on.

I would love this to be really bright and colourful!  If you need to borrow resources from the class please feel free to ask me 🙂

I have attached some photos of some examples to remind you what I am looking for!

We are still waiting to get a 100% homework record in class… let’s try and achieve that this week!!!

Let’s have a great week everyone!

Miss M 🙂
