Maths Week

Thank you to all families that took part in the Maths week challenge, it took a while to look through them all! It’s been really good seeing all the photos of maths in action this week and we will print them off put them up after the holidays.

To celebrate everybody who took part in the challenge, every bairn earned 5 merits each with Maalie, Tirrick and Shalder earning in total 125, 110 and 135 merits respectively. A winning entry was picked at random, so well done to Lyla from the Nursery and her family! She’ll get her prize after the holidays 😊

We have had a busy week in school with classes having a big focus on maths and for something different S3 and P6/7 were set a challenge a few weeks ago to make up maths activities for the lower primary. S3 came down on Wednesday morning with their activities and p6/7 planned theirs for this morning. All reports from teachers and pupils were very positive so we will hopefully repeat this again, with a different subject.

We appreciate the feedback received from parents after the Maths afternoon, and yesterday pupils and staff had the opportunity to reflect and submit feedback. A lot of positives, with parents enjoying the active approach to maths and the bairns really enjoying their family members coming to school. We will collate and display the information and it will be used to help us plan for the future so thank you.

We hope everybody enjoys their holidays!

Here’s a few photos from the Open Afternoon.
