Primary Open Day

Thank you to everyone who took time to come to the Primary Open Afternoon on Wednesday 13th March.  Pupils selected work to show their parents and family and classrooms were open for everyone to have a look around.

Photo slideshows were on display to show parents how much fun everyone had on Play Day and there were an excellent range of displays around the school.

In the canteen, the JRSOs displayed their Don’t Drink and Drive posters and people could try on goggles to see how the influence of alcohol affects your vision.

Primary 6/7 made a display on Sugar, highlighting how much sugar is in sweets and drinks. They were shocked to see how much sugar is in sweets, especially when it is more than the recommended daily amount!

The Numeracy display included the new textbooks for upper stages, examples of SEAL maths from P1 and materials from the new Numeracy at Home page from the school blog. Parents can access these materials to support maths at home including the Whalsay School Numeracy book and a Maths at Home document here.

All staff and pupils worked hard to get the school ready for open Afternoon which will replace the Open morning that usually takes place after Achievement Assembly in the last week of term. We would really appreciate your feedback on the afternoon, please click here to complete the short surveyhttps://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/R3CVTMR
