At the end of August, an open call was given for photography based around the theme of ‘My Shetland’.
Faye Anderson, S1, decided to take some photos of Whalsay, and submit them to the organisers.
Her photographs, along with these of six other young people from around Shetland, were manipulated into a repeat pattern, which echoed the idea of a Fair Isle style pattern, by Faye Hackers of Shetland College UHI.
The images were on public display, in the Gadderie gallery, throughout Shetland wool week.
Faye said that her Mum had seen the event advertised on the school Face Book page, and thought she might be interested , as she enjoys taking photos. She chose to take her photographs at Marrister, as she likes to play there with Simone, and she thought it would look good in photos.
When she first saw her work changed into a kaleidoscope pattern, she thought it looked a bit weird but also pretty cool!
Well done Faye.
