Secondary Football and Netball

A late update on the Football and Netball on Tuesday – I was hoping to get some photos but none were taken on the day.

The footballers had a tough time of it in the adverse weather conditions with the organisers taking the decision to shorten the competition. Before play was halted, our relatively young team had beaten Sandwick, drawn with Brae and lost to the eventual finalists North Isles and AHS. Congratulations to the North Isles team who won the competition on penalties.

The Netballers did really well with the older team qualifying for the semi-final. They enjoyed the lead for most of the game but AHS pegged them back with the final score 4-4. In extra time the AHS team managed to keep up their momentum and win through. The younger team acquitted themselves very well with 2 draws and a win from their 8 games.
