Sumdog Competition

This week we did a sumdog competition.  We worked very hard on it. We did it for our homework. It was very exciting and tempting. They were 1000 questions to answer and some of us in the top 10. Some just tried our best. The competition started on Friday and ended Thursday. In the end we won it and were very happy.

Following on from our success in the Sumdog competition last week we received certificates from Sumdog. One for daily winner for coming first last Tuesday and another for being the overall winner of the competition. Well done to all the class!

In addition to our class success we had 4 students who received individual certificates for making it into the top 10 for best scores.  Well done Lauryn, Sam, Cleo and Harry!

Mind Your Head Workshop

Last week pupils from Primary 6 and 7 had a visit for Mind Your Head.

They took part in a workshop to explain the importance of looking after our mental health in the same way that we look after our physical health. The children considered strategies that they could use if they need to support their wellness. They were also given information on how to create a self-care box.

Spreading kindness was a key message and the children were asked to think about acts that would help them to spread kindness. One way to do this was to nominate someone to receive a feel good bag. This can be done by using the link below.

Thursday 9th November 2023 Solar Panels

This week we went outside with solar panels to see how much energy we could create with the solar panels. We went around different parts of the school to see if we could get more energy in different spots around the school.  The areas that we were aloud to go to was the pitch and to the play park and in between. Some people got some very high electricity rates.

Traditional Dancing

Yesterday we did our first session of dancing at the leisure centre. We did traditional wedding dances like the grand old duke of York and Bridal march. Alyshia and Zak were the Bride and Groom, Morgan, Lola and Bella were bridesmaids and Hunter, Henry and Sandy  were the best men. Alyshia’s parents were Annie and John James. Zak’s parents were Lily and Danny. We are going to be doing dancing weekly on Thursdays.

During our lessons we learned the Boston Two Step, the Bridal March, Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow. We had a Christmas party up at the leisure centre. All of the classes from primary came up and all of the primary sevens had to dance with younger ones so that we could help them. We also did some party games which were really fun.

Thank you parent council for letting this happen and thank you Maria for teaching us to dance.
