Sports Day

On Monday we had sports day.  We had been practising our races throughout this term so we were well prepared for the big day.

Before we headed down we were all sorted into out house teams ands put on a coloured bib, red for Shalder, yellow for Tirrick and green for Maalie.

We walked down at the football pitch and our families were there ready to watch.

We did 4 races.  The first was a running race,

then we did a bean bag fetch and carry race,

we did the assault course where we had to run then crawl under the big net

and finally we did the parent and child race.

Throughout the morning, the children demonstrated excellent sportsmanship by cheering on their friends, taking turns, and celebrating each other’s achievements. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow and proudly show off their skills.

Families created a fantastic atmosphere with lots of encouragement and applause. The children loved having their supporters there to celebrate their efforts and successes and take part in the races.

Well done to all the children on a great sports day and thank you to the parents for cheering them on and taking part.

Lunch at the Canteen for the Preschoolers

5 of our preschoolers went to the canteen for lunch today as part of our transition into primary 1.

We walked in a nice line down to the toilets so we could wash our hands and get ready for lunch.

We went into P1 and Mrs Irvine read us all a story.

Then it was time to go to the canteen. We lined up and got our tray.  The canteen ladies helped us get our food.

We got fish and chips, and ice cream.  It was all on one big tray.  We sat at our table and ate up our lunch really well.

When we were finished we had to go to the hatch with our tray and put our cutlery in the basin.

Great Work preschoolers! You did so well.
